"Egghead Likes His Booky-Book!"

Nicked from [info]keieeeye

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next seven sentences in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

It was a long chain, long enough for me to use the chamber pot or to stand at the window and wait for the late owls. I love to hear the owls. I love to see the sudden glide of wings spread out for prey, and then the dip and the noise like a lover in pain.

He used the chain when we went riding together. I had a horse as strong as his, and he’d whip the horse from behind and send it charging through the trees, and he’d follow, half a head behind, pulling on the chain and asking me how I liked my ride.

His game was to have me sit astride him when we made love and hold me tight in the small of my back. He said he had to have me above him, in case I picked his eyes out in the faltering candlelight.

[info]creamsicklesky Bequeathed Unto Me the Letter 'D'...

Comment and I'll give you a letter; then you have to list ten things you LOVE that begin with that letter. Afterward, post this in your journal and give out some letters of your own.

1. Dee Plume - DEEEEEEEEEE! ♥

2. 'Dancing in the Dark' - by Bruce Springsteen. Ties with 'Thunder Road' as my fave Bruce song ever.

3. Dylan Moran - er, it's Dylan Moran. He's even better than tiramisu fried in sugar.

4. Donnie Darko - an awesome mind-fuck of a film. With the added bonus of Jake Gyllenhaal.

5. Dixon Bainbridge - he can survive the Arctic Tundra on the warmth hidden in his moustache :P

6. Dark Chocolate - really dark. The no-dairy kind. OM NOM NOM.

7. Dogma - er, it's Kevin Smith. CATHOLOCISM, WOW!

8. David Bowie - come on, the man is utter genius. That's pretty freaky, Bowie.

9. 'Darkplace - OK. So, technically it's 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace,' but close enough. Wonderfully silly and clever and full of Richard Ayoade's perfect comic delivery and priest!Julian.

10. Dirty Pretty Things - Carl Barat's post-Libertines band. Sure, it lacks the whole Pete/Carl songwriting dynamic, but it's still very good stuff. Much love.

You are in a mall when the zombies attack. You have:
1. one weapon.
2. one song blasting on the speakers.
3. one famous person to fight alongside you.

Weapon can be real or fictional, you may assume endless ammo if applicable. Person can be real or fictional.

1. A cricket bat.
2. 'Bulls on Parade' - Rage Against the Machine
3. Chris Keller (Oz) - I get the feeling this is a situation in which a homocidal sociopath would have the advantage ;)

Meme-meme-meme-meme...

Nabbed from </a></strong></a>[info]keieeeye

I know only a little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you for your interest in my words.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they listen in rapture to the love-music of she-turnips." I might feel compelled to mock your musical taste, but I'll certainly remember you.

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

I just thought this one was a really cool idea *grins*

Also, pretty excited - my sister bought a drum kit, muahahaha...has inspired me to get right back into guitar and start saving up for a new amp (my other one carked it aaaaages ago).
